Being a mother is considered to be a gift of life . Women are blessed with an ability to conceive, nourish and upbring the young ones.
Every mother loves to be an ideal mother but motherhood is fluctuating and challenging. It comes with being uncomfortable with your own body,dealing with noxious smell, anger on trivial issues,difficult thoughts and new behaviors which are unexpected/unwelcomed. Expecting mothers are often not able to sleep or eat comfortably nor relax as before. Sometimes it is difficult to bond with a child for a few days or more and feelings of hopeless,worthless can become a burden to handle.
It's never a voluntary decision to think or behave so, it's just a natural reaction in varying degrees. Maternal hormones have a high impact on emotions and behaviours and change in physical state have a high bearing on mothers .So, it's very important to become aware of these maternal mental health issues which are treatable by medications or by therapy sessions. Let's not be judgemental on a mother or stigmatize these issues and let her enjoy a blissful motherhood.
